ABSTRACT
The kinematic analysis of the different stuctural units constitutingthe Western Vosges massif shows that this area has recorded southwestwardshear deformation dipping to the SW. In the absence of later regionaltilting or folding, the bulk structure results from an extensional tectonicsinvolving low-angle normal faults and extensional lateral ramps duringa Viseo-Namurian plutonism.
