23 February, 2021 A global dataset of present-day oceanic crustal age and seafloor spreading parameters References Seton, M., Müller, R. D., Zahirovic, S., Williams, S., Wright, N., Cannon, J., Whittaker, J., Matthews, K., McGirr, R., (2020), A global dataset of present-day oceanic crustal age and seafloor spreading parameters, Geochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, doi: 10.1029/2020GC009214 and Müller, R. D., Zahirovic, S., Williams, S. E., Cannon, J., Seton, M., Bower, D. J., ... & Russell, S. H. (2019). A global plate model including lithospheric deformation along major rifts and orogens since the Triassic. Tectonics, 38(6), 1884-1907. ### Version 2020.1 ### This folder contains the following files: Global_410-0Ma_Rotations_2019_v3_${timescale}.rot - This file contains the rotation model that is consistent with the present day age grid. Global_EarthByte_${timescale}_Isochrons_2019_v3.gpml - This file contains the seafloor spreading isochrons. Global_EarthByte_${timescale}_IsoCOB_2019_v3.gpml - This file contains the continent-ocean boundaries as line segments. Global_EarthByte_${timescale}_Ridges_2019_v3.gpml - This file contains present and extinct mid-ocean ridges. Global_EarthByte_${timescale}_COB_Terranes_2019_v3.gpml - This file contains the polygons needed to make the masking polygon. Timescale is either Geek and Kent (2007) or GTS2012. The folder also contains a folder called PreferredMagPicks. This contains a subset of magnetic picks (our preferred picks that are used for misfit analysis) from the GSFML data repository associated with the following paper: Seton, M., J. Whittaker, P. Wessel, R. D. Müller, C. DeMets, S. Merkouriev, S. Cande, C. Gaina, G. Eagles, R. Granot, J. Stock, N. Wright, S. Williams, 2014, Community infrastructure and repository for marine magnetic identifications, Geochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, 5(4), 1629-1641, DOI lookup DOI:10.1002/2013GC005176 30 June, 2022: The following minor updates have been made to the PreferredMagPicks: - Assigned plate IDs to the Pacific and Marginal_BackarcBasin magnetic picks, based on Müller et al. 2019. - Included the *.gplates.xml files, for easier import into GPlates. - Fixed typo in Pacific filename, which caused an issue when importing into GPlates. - Renamed files to be more consistent. No changes to the magnetic picks themselves have been made. Contribute: We welcome contributions.
