Satyam Pratap Singh

Satyam is part of the Stellar project working on paleogeography reconstruction through time. More specifically, Satyam’s work focuses on deformation related to the continental rifting and mountain building process. This involves creating and testing different numerical models and parameters to understand the evolution of rift basins and mountain belts through geological time.

Satyam completed his Integrated Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee. His master project was “Repopulating Earthquake Catalogue in Hindu Kush-Pamir using Attentive Deep Learning Model,” where he explored how the attentive Deep Learning Model can significantly improve the earthquake detection problem and help in better understanding of the complex geology of Hindu Kush-Pamir. His previous work includes the development of GeoMech_IITR: A GUI tool for Standard Well Interpretation and Geomechanical Modeling and finite element modeling for rock deformation integrating dislocation creep, diffusion creep, and grain boundary sliding.
