Benefits

This scholarship will provide a stipend allowance of $35,000 per annum (indexed on 1 January each year) for up to three years, subject to satisfactory academic performance. The recipient may apply for an extension of the stipend allowance for up to six months.

Who’s eligible

You must:

  • have an unconditional offer of admission or be enrolled in a full-time PhD in the School of Geosciences
  • be willing to conduct research into quantitative spatio-temporal data analysis, using python programming
  • hold an honours degree (first class or second class upper) in geoscience, mathematics or statistics or a related field, or a master’s degree in a related field with a substantial research component.

Background

This scholarship has been established to provide financial assistance to PhD students who are undertaking research in spatio-temporal data mining for mineral exploration.
